Up in the air . . .

NORWEGIAN has announced a partnership with No1 Lounges to offer an enhanced travel experience to the airline’s loyalty scheme members travelling from Birmingham Airport.

Norwegian Reward members flying from Birmingham will get an exclusive 15 percent discount for No1 airport lounge access, which includes complimentary premium security lane access and CashPoints that can be used to reduce the cost of future flight bookings, seat reservation, and checked baggage.

Brede Huser, vice president of Norwegian Reward, said: ‘Our partnership with No1 Lounges is significant for Norwegian Reward members who can now earn even more cost savings.’

The No1 Lounge at Birmingham Airport has a fully bar and bistro … and a living herb wall.

RYANAIR says that from September 1 it will be mandatory for adults travelling with children under-12 to purchase reserved seats, but that the children will get reserved seats free of charge.

The airline is introducing this change after a busy period, when most of its flights have been full. Many adults travelling with young children did not select reserved seats and accordingly were randomly allocated seats that were not together. This caused boarding problems as crews tried to re-seat customers with young children.

Ryanair’s chief marketing officer, Kenny Jacobs said: ‘This change will allow parents to select their preferred seats at the time of booking, ensuring that they always sit with their children.’
