A bridge too far for Malta & Gozo

A BRIDGE linking #Malta to its neighbouring island, #Gozo, has been ruled out by the country’s government, which thinks that a sub-seabed tunnel is the more economically and environmentally sensible option.

Geological studies are being planned.

It’s been estimated that a link would reduce the crossing time for cars from 25 minutes to eight. Earlier studies identified four potential tunnel alignments, ranging in length from 3.7 miles to 6.2 miles.
