Brits head to Texas




TEXAS TOURISM has revealed that UK visitor figures to Texas totalled 226,000 last year, up by 43% up on the previous year.

The US as a whole saw a 1.9% increase in UK visitors, the first lift since 2008.

Britain is the largest overseas tourist market for Texas where in 2013 UK visitors spent almost $245million (£156 million) in the state.

The most popular activities in Texas for UK visitors were shopping, sightseeing, fine dining, visiting small towns or countryside, historical tourism, visiting national parks, art galleries and museums, sporting events, guided tours, and night-life.
