Winning website

A WEBSITE set up by volunteers to attract tourism to their Somerset village is going head-to-head with Dragon's Den's Kelly Hoppen and major corporate portals in the final round of the Good Web Guide's 2014 Website of the Year awards.

Visit Nunney

The site is also up for overall winner and People's Choice against stiff competition from corporate websites. The winners will be announced on November 17.

The Good Web Guide awards are given to websites for innovation and online excellence. The judging panel assesses entries on the quality of design, usability, and content.

John Webb, Nunney resident and former editor of the parish newsletter, said: ‘Too many websites are dull as ditchwater. Visit Nunney is different. It's fresh, lively, and packed with all kinds of up-to-date news, pictures, useful information, reviews, fascinating and well-researched local history articles, things to do, parish council news, advertisements, and a local calendar.’
