Travel insurance … read the small print!

A TYPICAL British traveller will go abroad with more than £1,000 worth of electronic equipment but, according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, of the UK tourists who do have insurance, only 12 per cent of them read all of their travel insurance documentation carefully. To help consumers stay wired-up to the latest information, Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) has compiled a comprehensive guide highlighting the different policies available for travel and gadget insurance. It can be found in the Know Before You Go section at www.aph.com/gadgets.

The guide compares costs and conditions across 14 insurance companies including Barclays, Debenhams, and Gadget Buddy, highlighting the policy type, what is included in the policy, the cost of excess charges when travelling in Europe and worldwide.
