How to cash in on the Commonwealth Games

HOTEL prices in Glasgow have risen to an average of £344 a night during the Commonwealth Games (July 23-August 4). This is a 158 percent increase in comparison to the previous week, when one night costs an average of £133. In July last year, one night in Glasgow cost an average of £78.

Go Holiday editor David Kernek comments: This is hardly a surprise. A much more economic alternative would be a self-catering cottage in the countryside outside Glasgow, or a holiday apartment in the city.
